100mm Binocular Telescope with 25x, Tripod and Case

100mm Binocular Telescope with 25x, Tripod and Case

This is a modified version of the 25/40x100mm, but with 1.25″ non-rotating helical focusers instead of permanently-mounted eyepieces on rotating turrets. A matched pair of 25x (24.43mm) fully multi-coated wide-angle eyepieces are included.. And because the helical focusers are a non-proprietary 1.25″ design, your favorite 1.25″ eyepieces can be used as well. The eyepieces do not rotate when focusing- a feature found only on high-end helical focusers. The rest of the binocular, including the semi-apochromatic triplet objectives, is the same proven design as found in the original 25/40x100mm. And just like the 25/40x100mm, broadband multi-coatings (non-reflective green/purp…

Where Can I Buy Binoculars?

January 21st, 2009 | Posted in Astronomical binoculars, Bird watching binoculars, Compact binoculars, Digital camera binoculars, Image stabilization binoculars, Marine binoculars, Night vision binoculars, Zoom binoculars

Where can I buy binoculars is a question with multiple answers. First of all, it raises additional queries such as: what do you need binoculars for, or how much money are you prepared to spend on some good binoculars. Let’s see what types of binoculars are there, the we are going to see where we can find them. This is only a general overview of binoculars, according to their purpose. In further articles we are going to see which are the main features of a binocular, how to choose them, or what is the most important in each case.

Bird Watching Binoculars

Bird watching is a hobby which is widely spread nowadays. People miss nature, they want to leave the cities and go in the wilderness to get in touch with its beauties. However, when these wildlife splendors either bite or fly, it is difficult to get close enough to admire them. This is where optics comes into place: we get a pair of bird watching binoculars, so we can see all those beautiful birds from close distance, while they have absolutely no clue somebody’s watching them.

Night Vision Binoculars

Usually, night vision binoculars are based either on infrared light image enhancement or on thermal imaging. The idea is that the binocular collects more light than usual ones, then it amplifies it, so it becomes visible by the human eye. In the thermal case, the night vision is based on collecting the upper range of the infrared light spectrum which is in fact the heat we all emit. While buildings and trees will appear darker, because they are cooler, living bodies will be brighter because their emissions are higher.

Zoom Binoculars

Zoom binoculars allow the user to zoom more or less, within their operating range. However, at x10 it will be very difficult to manage keeping the binoculars steady, so your image would probably shake a lot.

Compact Binoculars

These compact binoculars are smaller, thus making it very easy to carry them with you pretty much everywhere: in hiking, at the opera, when attending sports events. Of course they don’t have the same advanced characteristics of larger binoculars, but they usually offer a good vision of what’s happening on the stage or in the play field.

Digital Camera Binoculars

Digital camera binoculars are common binoculars provided with a built-in digital camera for taking pictures while using them. They are heavier than common ones, so although they can help you take great shots of birds, dolphins or ducks from a distance, they are not so easy to carry around all over the place.

Binoculars With Image Stabilization

These binoculars have an internal device which stabilizes the image by compensating the shaking of your hands. Their size is larger than the size of common binoculars.

Astronomical Binoculars

Because these binoculars need to gather a big amount of light, their main lens is big. Depending on the aperture you choose, you could be able to hold them with your hands for a while, or you’d need a tripod. Some astronomical binoculars have the L-bracket built in, in order to better attach to a tripod.

Marine or Waterproof Binoculars

Usually they have a rubber-armored design. Such binoculars need to have a large aperture, which generates a better contrast. Thanks to their rubber coat, the waterproof binoculars offer a good grip, and they make a good choice not only at sea, but also in mountains climbing.
